Overview #

A Qualified Motor Vehicle (QMV) is the official term used by IFTA to identify vehicles subject to fuel tax reporting requirements.

Qualification Criteria #

A vehicle is generally considered a QMV if it:

• Has three or more axles
• Exceeds 26,000 pounds GVW
• Operates in multiple jurisdictions
