< 1 min read

Description #

A High MPG Exception occurs when a vehicle or fleet reports fuel efficiency significantly above expected operating ranges. While improved fuel economy is generally positive, unusually high MPG values often indicate missing fuel purchases, incomplete fuel reporting, or mileage calculation errors that should be investigated before filing.

Possible Causes #

  • Missing fuel receipts
  • Missing fuel purchases
  • Duplicate mileage entries
  • Incorrect fuel quantities entered
  • Missing vehicle fuel transactions
  • Incorrect mileage imports
  • Vehicle assignment errors
  • ELD reporting discrepancies

Resolution #

  1. Review fuel purchase records for the affected vehicle.
  2. Verify all fuel receipts have been entered.
  3. Compare fuel card transactions against reported fuel purchases.
  4. Review mileage reports for duplicate entries.
  5. Verify ELD mileage imports.
  6. Correct missing fuel transactions.
  7. Regenerate Exception Reports and MPG calculations.
